The lighthouse represents an important viewpoint of the sea, taking a sacred position in protecting the coastline from disasters such as the Concordia cruise ship from happening again. As a commemoration for the Concordia incident, this lighthouse should be a place that celebrates the lives that where lost. Embracing the natural beauty of its surrounding areas, it should maintain a spiritual essence, giving the bereaved a sacred environment for their morning.

When approaching the harbor of Giglio Porto, in front of where the Concordia cruise ship ran a shore, the lighthouse will rise out of the rocky coastline as though embedded in its environment. Running on sustainable tidal energy the building will interact in harmony with its environment, washing away any negative energy left by the Concordia incident. Through solar powered glow stones mixed in the casted concrete, the building will radiate a shimmering haze of light in the darkness, symbolizing the purifying intentions of the building.
