The man of the house has developed a hobby that has spiraled out of control, leading to a disorganized living space. He collects rail transport models but is so busy that he struggles to complete his projects. As a result, the largest room in the house is filled with unfinished train builds, leaving some of the children without their own rooms.
-
To solve this issue, the decision was made to relocate the model train setup to a smaller laundry room while moving the washing machines to the hallway, thus creating space for an additional bedroom.
-
He initially started building with an upward spiral design, which was quite impressive. I reused materials to create a circular track that winds both up and down. This was quite a challenge to fit into such a small room, but fortunately, everything worked out perfectly.

For the train track, I chose a Tim Burton-inspired aesthetic, depicting a rough, abandoned concrete shell of a building, reminiscent of a civilization that collapsed hundreds of years ago. Now, a new life has settled within, with small houses lining the train track inside this structure. Old IKEA cabinets are incorporated into this world, serving as buildings.
-
-
These cabinets not only provide storage for the trains but also house his music record collection. Whenever he plays with the trains, he can listen to his favorite music and truly relax, taking a break from his busy life.
